The Engineering Process
A set of steps that engineers follow to solve a problem is referred to as an engineering process. It is highly iterative, and some parts of the process may be repeated many times within one project. The steps that are iterated could be defined and framed differently.
Research is the first step. This includes locating information that can be used to identify needs and the limitations. It is an essential part of the engineering design process, since it helps engineers determine the best solution to an issue.
Once researchers have enough information, they can begin to brainstorm ideas to solve the problem. This can be done a variety of ways and is where engineering creativity really thrives. This is the stage where possible solutions are evaluated and then analyzed. This could include simulation studies, the creation of decision matrixes, or even making prototypes to test.
This step involves students selecting the most appealing idea and creating a plan for its creation. They then construct the prototype using the specified materials and then test it against their performance requirements. Students may have to retest their prototype and modify it to ensure it performs as expected.
This is a great way to demonstrate the importance of problem-solving how useful are data room providers and iteration.
